13th General Assembly Meeting Was Held

We held the 13th General Assembly Meeting of the Empathy Social Responsibility and Education Association on March 3, 2022.

The general assembly opened with a minute of silence in memory of the great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, his brothers in arms and holy martyrs and singing the National Anthem.

Following the presentation of the 6th and 7th term activity and budget reports, the official and alternate lists of the 8th term board of directors and supervisory board shared by Chairwoman Zeynep Konukoğlu were unanimously approved.
The following were unanimously co-opted for the 8th term: Ceren Uğurluer as Chairwoman, Elif Çetindağ as Vice Chairwoman, İdil Muhittinoğlu as Secretary, Elif Kaya and Zeynep Küçükcan as Treasurer, Tuğba Muhittinoğlu, Pınar Doğan, Demet Ongun, Müge Tezel, Emine Mazıcıoğlu, Ezgi Şireci as members.

6th and 7th term Chairwoman Hale Konukoğlu took the floor for an emotional speech and said, “On February 13, 2009, ten young women came together to serve their city, and their country in the big picture. As each project carried out with enthusiasm generated benefit, we became more eager. At the end of the 13th year, I see myself as a mother who sends her child off to study away from home and I am sure that child has grown up now. Now is the time to pass the torch so as to make room for new beginnings, embark on new journeys, get to know new places and new passengers and give opportunity not only to ourselves but also to others. A narrow path from heart to heart brought us together. I wish eternal success to our new term chair and the board and have no doubt that they will cherish and protect our trust. May your path, our path be clear!”

Ceren Uğurluer said in her speech as the new chairwoman, “Today, I stepped up to take over a valuable trust. Our association, the first steps of which we took together in 2009, has blossomed over the years with three bold chairwomen and members. Together we have touched the lives of hundreds of people and will continue to do so. I have no doubt that each of our members will work with all their heart and soul and energy to do better in the new term. The world is changing, conditions are changing, we are living in the pandemic which calls for adaptation. However, every difficult period brings with it dynamism, new trends and different perspectives. With this belief, my wish is to embrace brighter days together. As I take over this precious and difficult task, I would like to end my words by commemorating Mustafa Kemal Atatürk to whom I have always been devoted with gratitude and love. As the guardians of the revolutions, we will work with all our might for the children and youth to have equal conditions and for preserving the achievements of the Republic. We need to endeavor! We will hand over their trust to children we raised and helped raise. May our new term be fruitful.”

Our 4th and 5th term chairwoman Zeynep Konukoğlu and our founding chairwoman Pınar Topçuoğlu thanked our 6th and 7th term board members in the presence of Hale Konukoğlu for their efforts and wished success to our 8th term president Ceren Uğurluer and the new board.
