Organized by Empathy Social Responsibility and Education Association in order to donate the generated income to education, 2nd Empathy New Year’s Shopping Festival has started.
The opening ceremony of the festival held at Teymur Continental Hotel was attended by Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatma Şahin, Gaziantep Chamber of Industry Chairman Adil Konukoğlu, Sanko Holding Board Members Hakan and Cengiz Konukoğlu, Empathy Social Responsibility and Education Association Chairwoman Zeynep Konukoğlu and Board Members, with Gaziantep Governor’s wife Mrs. Nazan Ata, MP Nejat Koçer’s wife Mrs. Füsun Koçer and Private Sanko Schools Advisory Board Chairwoman Jülide Konukoğlu.
Emphasizing the importance they attach to social responsibility projects, Empathy Chairwoman Zeynep Konukoğlu stated that they will again spend the income raised from the shopping festival on education. Reminding that Empathy Primary School continues its education, Konukoğlu said, “We will collect the income raised from this event in our education pool. We haven’t signed a protocol with the governor’s office yet but we want to build Empathy Secondary School.”
“Education is everything. Nothing happens without education,” Konukoğlu said and added that already being at an advanced level in many fields as well as industry and trade, Gaziantep should exhibit the same success in education. Stating their desire to contribute to education, Zeynep Konukoğlu said, “We wanted to lay a brick in education. That’s why all of our friends tried to do their best.”
Wishing the festival to be beneficial, Gaziantep Chamber of Industry Chairman Adil Konukoğlu pointed out that education assumes an important role in the development of a country. Emphasizing that as industrialists, they always provide support for education and strive to open new business areas for youth, Konukoğlu stated that they appreciate the Empathy Association for its educational endeavors and congratulated the members of the association for their social responsibility activities.
36 companies from various sectors in İstanbul, Gaziantep and surrounding cities take part in the Empathy New Year’s Shopping Festival with distinguished brands. The festival, hosting philanthropists who will do shopping to contribute to education between 11 am and 7 pm, will continue tomorrow.
