We organized a ‘Hymns Symphony’ concert with the Çukurova State Symphony Orchestra and Ladies & Gentlemen İstanbul Choir on May 15, 2017 at Gaziantep University Mavera Congress and Art Center. Soprano Mine Kurtoğlu, Tenor Burak Kut and Bass Tuncay Kurtoğlu accompanied the orchestra under the direction of conductor Orhan Şallıel. The arrangements of the Hymns Symphony were made by Yusuf Yalçın.
In her opening speech, Chairwoman Zeynep Konukoğlu said: “Tonight, my fellow members and I have mixed feelings. We set out with the dream of establishing a village school in 2009 and completed the Empathy Primary School with 32 classrooms within a short period of 2 years and donated it to the National Education. But our dreams are not over. We gave our promise for another school to our minister Fatma Şahin at the opening ceremony of the Empathy School. It is with great pride and honor for my association to announce that the protocol of the new Empathy School will be signed very soon. I would like to extend our deepest appreciation to Gaziantep Governor Ali Yerlikaya, Gaziantep Metropolitan Mayor Fatma Şahin, to esteemed board members Hakan Konukoğlu and Cengiz Konukoğlu on behalf of our main sponsor Sanko Holding, to Ali Gür, Rector of Gaziantep University who cooperated with us in this organization and also to countless Empathy volunteers for their support.
Gaziantep Chamber of Industry Assembly President Mustafa Topçuoğlu expressed his gratitude for this event organized in benefit of education and made a contribution to the classroom sales for funding the new Empathy School.
At the end of the concert, Chairwoman Zeynep Konukoğlu presented plaques of appreciation to Soprano Mine Kurtoğlu, Tenor Burak Kut, Bass Tuncay Kurtoğlu and Maestro Orhan Şallıel. Burak Kut, made a speech during the plaque presentation and asked the people of Gaziantep to provide support for the new school to be built by Empathy and stated that he was happy to take part in this organization held in benefit of education.
Gaziantep University Rector Ali Gür presented plaques of appreciation to Çukurova State Symphony Orchestra Director Artunç Çoruh on behalf of the Orchestra, to Çelik Kasapoğlu on behalf of Ladies & Gentlemen İstanbul Choir and to Yusuf Yalçın who made the arrangement of the hymns.
Gaziantep Chamber of Industry Assembly President Mustafa Topçuoğlu presented plaques of appreciation to Board Member Hakan Konukoğlu representing our main sponsor Sanko Holding.
