The arbor built by the Empathy Social Responsibility and Education Association at the Oncology Hospital was put into service by Gaziantep University Rector Prof. Dr. Yavuz Coşkun. Chairwoman Pınar Topçuoğlu stated that Empathy will always be there for the Oncology Hospital and said, “Our association will continue to support the Oncology Hospital in meeting the general and individual needs.”
One of the major needs of the Oncology Hospital, operating under Gaziantep University and provides services to the provinces of the region, an arbor was built and put into service by the Empathy Social Responsibility and Education Association. The opening ceremony of the arbor built by Empathy, was attended by Gaziantep University Rector Prof. Dr. Yavuz Coşkun, Chief Physician of Oncology Hospital Prof. Dr. Levent Elbeyli, Head of Gaziantep Branch of the Turkish Association for Cancer Research and Control Dr. Alaeddin Demircan, GKV Board Members Dr. Mustafa Özgün and Lawyer Aysel Tokatlı, Empathy Social Responsibility Association Chairwoman Pınar Topçuoğlu, Board members and many guests. Emphasizing the importance of the arbor for the patients in the Oncology Hospital and their relatives, Gaziantep University Rector Prof. Dr. Yavuz Coşkun said, “The Oncology Hospital, operating under the Faculty of Medicine, is the joint work of the people of Gaziantep. The arbor will meet the needs of both our patients and their relatives. We would like to thank the Empathy Association who made their presence felt in the public with their critical works since their foundation.”
Stating their purpose as creating projects to meet social needs, Empathy Social Responsibility and Education Association Chairwoman Pınar Topçuoğlu said, “We have a soft spot for the Oncology Hospital and especially the leukemia patients who are treated there. Our association is constantly dealing with patients and we do our best to support our children. We would like to thank the Gaziantep Branch of the Turkish Association for Cancer Research and Control for giving us such an opportunity to serve. We have undertaken this project upon their suggestion and now that the arbor is completed we better understand how appropriate that suggestion was.” The first activity held in the arbor, which was put into service with a ceremony, was painting lessons for children with leukemia. After the ceremony, Empathy Social Responsibility and Education Association Chairwoman Pınar Topçuoğlu presented plaques of appreciation to Head of Gaziantep Branch of the Turkish Association for Cancer Research and Control Dr. Alaeddin Demircan and to the institutions and organizations that supported the construction of the arbor.
